Festival Latino: Horario de las actividades para familias

This year marks the 15th Annual Vermont Latino Festival, and what a fiesta!

Please read on for a list of all the exciting children's activities.

Family Activities:

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9TH

Location: Fletcher Free Library FREE

3:30 PM – 5:30 PM Children's Latino Movie Enjoy a light snack, make a fun craft, and watch an episode of Maya and Miguel, La Calavera, about the Day of the Dead, a fall celebration in many Latin American countries.


FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11TH

Location: Callahan Park in Burlington's South End FREE

4:00 PM – 5:30 PM Spanish/English Playgroup Come play at the park, mingle with other families, sing Spanish songs, and make a craft.



SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12THFREE FAMILY FUN THE WHOLE DAY!

Saturday Morning Schedule

Location: Fishing Pier Picnic Shelter near Skate Park FREE

10:30 AM Sing-Along and Treasure Hunt Meet at the Picnic Shelter for a fun and educational morning learning about Latin American countries by hunting for clues.

12:00 –1:00 PM Lunch Food vendors will be selling tasty Latino food to enjoy at the picnic shelter.

Saturday Afternoon Schedule

Location: Boathouse near ECHO FREE

1:00 PM – 4:00PM Children's Tent Check out the children's booth under the tents in front of ECHO, where kids can make crafts, contribute to a mural, and get their faces painted. Older kids can come and test their knowledge about Latino culture. Receive a Latino activity booklet to share with your family and schoolmates.

Location: ECHO Conference Room FREE

1:30 PM –2:30PM ZUMBA for Kids Join us for aerobics with a Latin twist, tailored for children! Show off your moves and learn some new ones with local Zumba instructor, Allison Dincecco.

Location: Waterfront Green FREE

2:30 PM – 3:30PM Futbol/Soccer Come and meet local soccer players of Latino heritage and learn what "futbol" is all about in their country of origin. Learn some Spanish soccer lingo and play on a soccer skills obstacle course.

Location: Waterfront Green FREE

4:00 PM Piñatas End with a bang with piñatas for children of all ages. Learn a traditional piñata-breaking song and show that piñata who is boss!
